Why I started this
I kept seeing the same pattern: local businesses sold complexity and left short on fundamentals. Websites for plumbers, electricians and restaurants running five different SEO plugins, while the basic facts — hours, phone number, address — didn't even agree with each other from one page to the next.
Most local businesses don't need another monthly retainer. They need someone to look calmly at what's actually there and fix the factual layer, so search engines and map platforms can trust the information enough to put them forward.
What I did before this
Nearly thirty years of it, one way or another — design, SEO, and the plumbing underneath both. SchemaHouse is the narrow part of that work I think matters most to a local business.
Local services, e-commerce and lead-gen sites. Learned early that shortcuts don't survive and fundamentals do.
Information architecture, mostly — making sure a site made sense to a person and to a machine reading it.
Cutting out layers and keeping business data structured and verifiable across the platforms that publish it.
Why I do it by hand
A plugin publishes whatever is already in your site. If your footer has last year's phone number, the plugin faithfully publishes last year's phone number — and now the contradiction is machine-readable. I go and find those disagreements first, the mismatched hours, the old business name, the service page nobody updated, and settle them before any markup gets written.

Working out of Post Falls
Being here puts me closest to the businesses where getting the details right matters most — contractors, HVAC companies, roofers, owner-run cafes. When I'm not doing this you'll find me camping or hiking somewhere in the Inland Northwest.
